Click on Start a Fundraiser at the top of any Growing Healthy Schools page and fill out the form to register! At that time you're able to create the project at any time, but projects will not be published (visible on the site) until the fundraising campaign begins.

All projects must be focused on improving the health of the school community. This includes any projects that:
- Increase access to nutritious foods
- Increase opportunities for/access to physical activity
- Increase student knowledge of physical fitness
- Increase access to general health or nutrition information
The project requirements are as follows:

- All required fields in the project creation form must be completed.
- Any promotional media organized by the fundraising leader(s) must be aligned with district policy regarding the capture and display of photos and/or videos of students.
It depends on the school so check with your school administration. If they would like to see something in writing, an Administration Approval Form is available for your use. The form provides information on Growing Healthy School and you simply fill out the rest of the form specific to your project.
Visit our projects page for examples and the archive of past projects to get ideas! Think of projects that will increase students’ and staff access to healthy activities, learning, or nutrition. We also offer a variety of project kits that can be selected to start a project quickly!
A project can be started at any time during the ten-week period once a fundraising session begins, but an account can be made at any time. There are two fundraising sessions per year, in the Fall and in the Spring. However, we encourage project leads to start early on, to ensure that approval is obtained from school administration if needed and increase the chances of meeting fundraising goals and winning additional money!
There are ten weeks for fundraising.
At the end of the project period, a check for raised funds (minus the 10% fee for site maintenance) will be sent to the school. When registering and setting up a the project, please ensure that the school mailing address is correct.
A check will still be sent to the school for the amount raised (minus the 10% fee for site maintenance), and we recommend launching the project again in the next session to raise the remainder of funds needed.
H-E-B Bonus Prizes are additional funding worth $5,000 (4 prizes), and $10,000 (1 prize)! Bonus Prizes are customizable and can be used for the initial project or additional health focused programs, initiatives and/or equipment. Winners decide what the money will be used for, as long as it is health-focused and benefits the entire school. Please note this money is not reimbursable for health focused program, initiative and/or equipment purchased by the school. The money will not be paid to the school but directly to the Vendor/Purchase Order for the desired health focused program, initiative and/or equipment.
Once your fundraising goal is reached and eligibility requirements are met by the end of the fundraising session, project leads and their associated school are automatically entered into the drawing.
At the close of the session, IT'S TIME TEXAS staff will enter all projects who have met their goal and other eligibility requirements into the drawing. The winners are chosen at random and all have an equal opportunity to win!
Winners will fill out an online request of the items to be ordered with the additional money won. IT'S TIME TEXAS Staff will work with the Project Lead and the vendor to expediate the process but please be patient as item availability and shipping varies.
Only projects that reach their fundraising goal and meet eligibility requirements (see below) will be entered into the Bonus Prize drawing.
